Hidden River

A guided tour down the beautiful but rarely paddled upper North Branch of the Chicago River.  The route runs through the forest preserves where the North Branch bike path runs, but more often you'll paddle alongside mink and deer trails.

• This is about 4.5 miles, launching just below the Willow Rd. dam where the Lagoons flow into the North Branch and taking out at Harms Woods in Morton Grove
• There is one small dam that we'll help you portage, and the chance of an unscheduled portage if a tree has fallen across the stream.  Expect to get your sandals a bit muddy.
• ** while we've enjoyed offering this trip, we've run into a lot of variability in terms of the number of logjams encountered.  We're going to hold off on scheduling this trip while we wait to see whether the local government that removes logjams for drainage purposes does so on a predictable schedule.  We hope to offer the trip again in the future. ***
